ATL DOC is the Atlanta Documentary Film Festival. We screen features and shorts each March at Limelight Theater. The 2026 festival runs March 20 - 22, 2026. You’ll see new documentary films from emerging and established filmmakers along with Q&As and filmmaker mixers and parties. Join us for the 21st Annual Edition.

Two Decades of Docs That Matter
ATL DOC, formerly Atlanta Docufest, is the Southeast’s longest running documentary film festival. For more than twenty years, the festival has been a place for films that tell the truth, start conversations, and bring people together.
ATL DOC celebrates twenty one years of documentary filmmaking that moves people and sparks new ideas. We bring local work and global stories to the screen each March in Atlanta.
We focus on independent documentaries that push the form and explore real life from many angles. We program documentary features, documentary shorts, student films, and Made in Georgia projects. The lineup includes true stories, investigative work, arts films, experimental docs, and films that blur the lines between forms. If you’re looking for documentary film festivals in Atlanta, ATL DOC is where filmmakers and audiences meet each year.

We’re looking for powerful, original documentaries of all lengths and styles. Whether your film explores personal stories, social issues, art, culture, or the world around us, ATL DOC is where real stories find their audience. Submit your film and join a 21-year tradition of independent documentary filmmaking in Atlanta.

In 2025, we honored an exceptional lineup of documentary filmmakers who brought compelling, thought-provoking, and powerful stories to the screen.
